Mama and Papa's 69th Wedding Anniversary

On the weekend of March 19th the entire family was together for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. We celebrated Mama and Papa's anniversary, fished, played games, and enjoyed being together. Papa sat at the table for a couple of hours eating his breakfast and watching the greatgrandkids play games. As always God has a plan and this was to be our last time at the lake with Papa. God has truly blessed us to be a close family. We are very saddened at our loss but at the same time so very thankful for the 91 years that he gave Papa on this earth. We have so many precious memories that Mama and Papa have given us thru many years of coming to the lake. Thru them we will continue to live out the dreams that they had when they purchased a one room cabin and never in their wildest dream did they imagine that we as a family would continue their legacy by building the new cabin.

Trying to get a picture is sometimes challenging to say the least!

Lake Frozen Over

We were quite surprised when we woke up and the entire neck was frozen over. In all the years of having a cabin on Lake Fort Phantom this is the first time we have ever seen it frozen over. If you look closely at the picture you can see how far out it is frozen. Michael and Leslie are throwing rocks to try and break the ice. To everyone's surprise, it was frozen solid and even the big rocks would not break the ice!!

I am keeping this in the freezer forever!

Look at this piece of ice Poppa!!

June 24th One Year Ago

.

This weeks marks the anniversary of the beginning of the building of our lake house. We set the first beam on June 21, 2008. We stayed there for the first time in November. Wow!!! We completed in a little under 6 months. What a feat.
We have already began to form new memories..........open house, birthday parties.....and this weekend........our 1st Cypert Reunion in our new lake house.

I have been in so much trouble for not posting on the blog that I will try to do a little better.........no promises!!

Passing Inspection

Mama and Papa came for the weekend to check out the new furniture and blinds. They are so excited. To see them when they come to the lake house and share their excitement brings much joy to our family.

Wall Hanging

One more comment from Bill and Ruthie is finding a place to permanently hang him on the wall!!!!

Up and down the ladder pays off.

THANK YOU Cypert cousins........nieces and nephews

We can hardly wait to go to the cabin for a big weekend and put the ice chests to use. Ever since I became a member of the family (39 years ago in December) we have always gotten ice from an ice chest and had them setting on the floor. No more stooping...bending...little hands playing in the ice.......WE ARE SO EXCITED. They coordinate (us girls decided to us coordinate instead of saying match...the boys were tired of hearing.....the word MATCH) beautifully! The most special thing about them is that they were made by hands of our family and given in love and support.

Hester Family Christmas: Lake Cabin Style

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the cabin not a rattlesnake was stirring...not even a cotton gin. All the stockings were hung, by the staircase with care, in hopes that the new plumbing would not become plugged by ALL this hair! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!! MaMa, PaPa, Jerry, Wanda, Bill, Sheila, Laurie, Paul, Wayne, Tricia, Michael, Leslie, Patrick, Shelly, Micah, Reece, Trinity, Kyler, and Gracie.

Gone Fishing

Bill left ahead of me and went to Abilene to pick up somethings that had to be gotten before 5:00. He called me about 5:15 to see if I was on the road and said that he was going to fish for a few minutes while waiting on me to get there. I was excited because over the past 6 months that we have been working on the cabin no one has even taken off long enough to go fishing. When I drove up he met me at the door grinning from ear to ear!!!! 6.25lbs. caught off our unloading ramp
